Job Description-Senior Painting Estimator / Surveyor/ Contracts Manager CardiffLocation: Based from our Cardiff Office carrying out contracts across South Wales.
The Role
This role is an integral and trusted role right at the heart of the action of our Cardiff business with over 20 painters and apprentices.This exciting opportunity offers the chance to be involved in all aspects of managing painting and decorating contracts from initial enquiry through to completion. We require anindividual with a proven track record in Senior Painting Estimator / Surveyor/ Contracts Manager. The exact position of this role within the business, including line management responsibilities will be dependent on the successful candidate's prior experience and skills.

Key responsibilities would be: - Surveying properties/structures for painting work
- Assessing painting projects, estimating the cost, labour resources, materials and time for completion
- Putting together well-presented, competitive tender packages for work
- Developing relationships with new and existing customers, making sure that all customers receive an excellent service
- Producing risk assessments and method statements for contracts, ensuring health and safety procedures are adhered to throughout projects
- Managing the contract from start to finish, ensuring that productivity targets and agreed quality and safety standards are met
- Managing project costs within budget to deliver planned financial result on completion Managing site-based operatives
You
A proactive instinct is required to fulfil the role successfully, to anticipate the actions required to deliver excellent painting contracts for our customers.
We are looking for someone who is experienced in pricing and managing painting contracts. We ask that you possess the following skills and experience.
- Pricing of single painting projects of £2k to £200K in value
- Winning painting contracts through competitive tendering
- Managing site-based operatives
- Running painting contracts from start to finish
- Strong skills in financial analysis and commercial awareness
- Ability to manage a number of projects simultaneously with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
- Ability to innovatively solve problems and work unsupervised in a busy environment
- Excellent social and communication skills to engage individuals and ensure co-operation to achieve the best possible outcomes
- Ability to build strong relationships with customers and the branch team and to act as a role model for the culture and values of Bagnalls
- Excellent written, numeracy, IT skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Full driving licence
- Good general standard of education including as a minimum English and Mathematics GCSE at grade A*-C or equivalent
PackageThe exact package will be dependent on skills and experience. Basic salary will be in the region of£35000 - £50000 depending on experience, with potential to earn significant bonus based on performance.Fully expensed company car, life assurance, 8% contributory company pension scheme also included.

Hours: Full time (40 hours per week) Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work required
